Our clinic offers 2nd line therapy services, various expertises in the field of rehabilitation. It stands out by its interdisciplinary approach where all the different therapists work together to determine the best care for every individual client. The therapists formulate common rehabilitation objectives and use their different specialities to complement one another in the creation of their intervention plan.
This program is for anyone who has a disability related to musculoskeletal disorders of over 3 months in duration, chronic pain, or a mental health diagnosis. This process aims at a return to work in a safe and sustainable manner.
In a personalized approach considering the psychosocial factors, the program emphasizes a physical reactivation, development of work capacities and a re-education of self-managing pain and energy levels. We also offer support during the return-to-work process as needed.
Interdisciplinary follow-ups in occupational therapy, kinesiology and physiotherapy optimise the efficiency of the interventions by putting into place common goals with the close collaboration of all involved therapists.
To achieve the different intervention objectives and to improve the client's endurance throughout, clinic attendance increases progressively from week to week, leaving time for recovery and progressions.
This type of interdisciplinary evaluation includes occupational therapy and physiotherapy. It aims to provide a portrait of a client’s functional and physical abilities, by combining the global vision of an occupational therapist in relation to the dimensions of the person (environmental and occupational commitments) with the objective physical evaluation performed by the physiotherapist.
This assessment also helps to identify the tools and barriers to rehabilitation.
It provides recommendations for the referral of rehabilitation services.
An FCE can also provide a prognosis for a return to the workforce and make recommendations for work restrictions needed in the context of a return to work.
This assessment is shorter than the Functional Abilities Assessment (FA) and is primarily used to identify barriers to rehabilitation and to determine if the client would benefit from various rehabilitation approaches, including a functional skills program. Thus, this type of assessment helps to guide further rehabilitation interventions and clarify the prognosis for recovery.
When a person experiences difficulties with daily activities related to a mental health diagnosis, such as depression, adjustment disorder, or anxiety disorder, managing the various symptoms daily can become a real challenge.
An interdisciplinary approach to occupational therapy and kinesiology optimizes interventions that promote occupational and physical reactivation. This program maximizes the benefits of occupational therapy interventions in mental health by adding the many psychological benefits of physical activity, such as energy and anxiety management.
A workstation assessment by an occupational therapist can provide recommendations for adaptations needed to the workstation or performance of certain work tasks. This evaluation is important to minimize the various risk factors related to workplace injuries. This assessment can also determine if the work tasks correspond to functional limitations that may be in place.
An occupational therapist can travel to the workplace in order to carry out various interventions, whether it is to accompany a client to optimize a return-to-work process, or to offer recommendations for adapting certain work tasks to minimize the various risk factors for injury. An intervention in the workplace can also allow for the integration of the various strategies taught in the clinic ensuring the implementation to a real work environment.
